And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth Thou art the Son of GOD. (Mat 14:25-33)
Jesus is the Son of GOD, who is GOD the Son, and rules over His creation. He bids us to follow in faith, and believe. No matter what the storm is that we face, we can overcome temptation, or tribulation, or tumultuous times in the power and presence of GOD our Saviour. He bids us come, He invites us to believe that we might see, and will rescue and deliver those that call upon Him in faith, trusting Him alone to accomplish the work in us He has promised to do.
Peter walked where Jesus bade him come, until he took his eyes off Jesus, and began to be concerned about his circumstances and fear and doubt crept in. We are to believe, not because of our opinion, or our experiences, or our emotions, but because what He says is true. We don't have to fear or doubt, we have His Word on it, and He cannot lie. When we trust Him, believe His Word, and observe to do all that He commands because of our faith, we can and do walk where He bids us go. Whether it is to our neighbours and coworkers, to our friends and family, across town or across the world, we go where He sends, say what He has said, and do what He tells us.
He is Lord, and He is GOD, and we are His servants. As His ambassadors, we minister to those around us who are hurting, and who are in need. As His disciples, we encourage and equip one another in the Word, so we may grow thereby. As ministers of reconciliation, we proclaim the Gospel to every one, telling all who will hear of the Good News of Jesus Christ and the forgiveness that we receive when we place our faith and trust in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. As we go, we share and preach His Word, that those who hear and believe may receive life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
