The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast Thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my GOD. When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto Thee, into Thine holy temple. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto Thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. (Jonah 2:5-9)
As demonstrated by this account of disobedience, repentance, and reluctant obedience; GOD is a GOD of second chances. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to the knowledge of the Truth. That doesn't mean He will give you a second chance after this life is over, then it is too late; for it is then the time of judgment. No, now is the time of Salvation. Salvation is of the Lord, and only through Him can we be forgiven and saved from our sIn.
If you are already one of His, and commissioned as Jonah was; don't be disobedient and reluctant as Jonah to do the work of the Lord. Repent and return to Him, and tell others of His love and mercy.
In Christ,
