Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering; Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. (Lev. 22:18-21)
God commanded a perfect sacrifice be brought before Him. Whosoever offered anything unto the Lord was to bring the best of their animals, pure and holy, without any spot or blemish, acceptable unto God. God is Holy and demanded and deserves the best offerings from His people. The Lord God of Israel expected that whatever was given unto Him was worthy not only as an acceptable offering but also because all the offerings ever given by the children of Israel were supposed to be a type and picture of the final offering for sin in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.
Jesus Christ is the final sacrifice for sin. The perfect and holy Son of God who is God the Son put on flesh and became a man, offered Himself for our sin, and satisfied the wrath of the Father through His death on the Cross of Calvary. No more sacrifices of dead animals are necessary to pay for our sin. He has finished the sacrificial system, not only fulfilling the Law completely, but also completing all the sacrifices given in His Name. Those sacrifices of bulls and goats covered their sin until Jesus came and went willingly to the Cross and finished the plan and purposes of God in Christ to reconcile whosoever will unto Himself. The offerings were to be perfect and holy, for Christ as the ultimate sacrifice for sin was perfect and holy. He lived a sinless life, was without spot or blemish, and took our place and paid our sin debt with His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary.
God has sent those of us that know Him out into this world to reach the lost that they might be saved from sin. He desires that His people strive to be holy and obedient unto Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our GOD has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of GOD so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of GOD might have life in His Name.
GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
