LORD, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in Thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. (Psalms 15:1-5)
Only through the life changing relationship with Jesus Christ, and faith in His finished work on the Cross of Calvary can anyone truly accomplish this goal. Even David knew that without GOD he had no hope of living for GOD, but because of His faith, even when he faltered, He would see GOD in the next life, and be assured of His relationship with GOD in this life. We can be even more assured and secure in that relationship because of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
We do well to look to this list and understand how our relationship with Christ is our only righteousness, and Christ living in us is our only hope, our life, and our peace with GOD and with our fellow man. Our neighbors who are not in Christ will not understand the things of GOD, and some may actively oppose us, but our command is to love them. We speak out against that which is evil and call it what it is, but we also understand that we cannot seek a political or social solution for a spiritual problem. Without the Gospel of Jesus Christ, lost people will do lost people things, and they have no hope, no future, and no life.
Ultimately our life is to be on mission with and for GOD, and our love for our neighbor and for our GOD compels us to tell those that don't know Him about the love of Jesus Christ demonstrated on the Cross. We have the Words of Life, and must go and tell
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but wants all to come to the knowledge of the Truth. The Truth that Jesus is GOD, and because He loves us, He stepped out of Heaven, willingly and humbly became a man, and went obediently to the Cross of Calvary for the sIn of the whole world. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. He tells us that we must be born again and receive His salvation and forgiveness of your sIn. He invites you into a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Believe His Word and receive Him by faith today.
In Christ,
