And the LORD hath sent unto you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever: And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke Me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. Yet ye have not hearkened unto Me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. (Jeremiah 25:4-7)
GOD continually warns His people of their sIn and its consequences. In Israel He sent the prophets to tell them to repent and to look to the Saviour. Today, He uses us to preach the Gospel to this lost and dying world and to look to Jesus. The message is the same. GOD is the same. There is no plan B. From the beginning of Creation, GOD has always announced the Cross and the Messiah as the Way of Salvation. Israel had the opportunity, personally and nationally to repent and be saved, but they would not. But even in their idolatry there was a remnant that was faithful and true to GOD's Word. He delivered them, not from the captivity necessarily, but from the destruction that came to the city. Jerusalem was eventually destroyed just as GOD had promised.
Today, there are some that think that we in the Church are not going to have any trouble because of our faith in Christ. GOD says we will have trouble in this world because it is broken and sinful, but He has overcome the world and will bring us through it, until that day when He takes out of it. We must be about the business of warning those that oppose themselves that their sIn which separates them from GOD is already judged and that all of us are under the curse of sIn. We must also tell them, just as the prophets did that the Messiah, Jesus Christ has already paid their sIn debt, and if they receive Him by faith in His finished work on that Cross they will be saved.
You must repent, surrender to GOD on His terms and be born again. Without that you cannot even see the Kingdom of GOD. Jesus is the only way. He is not willing that you should perish, but wants you to know Him and come to the knowledge of the truth. The Truth of His Word, that He loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. He desires to give you a new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him by Faith in His Name. Believe and receive Him today.
Be obedient and share Jesus Christ and the message of Hope today.
