O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to GOD, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
(1 Corinthians 15:55-58)
Speaking of that, if you are one who has never repented of your sIn, and been born again; this passage is refering to a victory you have not received. Jesus Christ paid for it for you; but until you believe in Him, repent, and receive this free gift He has for you, being already guilty before GOD and condemned; if you die in your sins you will be cast out of the presence of GOD for all eternity. It's not pleasant to hear or think about, but it is the Truth. But, GOD is not willing that any should perish and loves you so much that He, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life became sIn for you that you might be made the righteousness of GOD in Him. He wants you to become a new creature in Christ and have eternal life. Not in the future, but now; as our passage today celebrates.
And for the believer, consider the encouragement that GOD gives today, and do the work that He calls us to.
In Christ,
