Seeing it is a righteous thing with GOD to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from Heaven with His mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not GOD, and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power; When He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (2Th 1:6-10)
Knowing that our Lord will return should be sobering to us who know the terror of the Lord and fear Him. Knowing His judgment on those who oppose Him, either actively in persecution of His own, or passively in denying His existence, we should be compelled to warn them. We know that Jesus will exact justice on all who are still in their trespasses and sins, and refuse to repent and be reconciled with GOD who loves them and gave Himself for all to have eternal life. We know that He will return as the conquering King of the Universe, and all those who are not secure in Him will be under His condemnation.
Until He returns in the Day of Christ, there is still time to repent and be saved. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for all to hear, and we are the ones who are to tell it. Tell it to our neighbours, tell it to our friends, our family, and to our communities. For the Gospel is the only thing that will truly change anything, as those who come to Christ are then discipled in His Word to think, communicate, and act as He would. Because our Lord and King is going to return for His own and to pronounce His righteous Judgment and justice on this sinful and broken world we must be about our Father's business and doing the work of the Kingdom.
We must be doing the work and will of GOD that He has called us to, the mission of the church, to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need, as His body and ambassadors of His Kingdom. We must love one another as He loved us, and commanded us, in fellowship as part of His body, and members one of another as we disciple one another in His Word. We must go out with the Gospel as He has commissioned us, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and as we go, take the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation with the Father through faith in the finished and perfect work of the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, Jesus Christ, on the Cross of Calvary, that those who repent and believe might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
