Thou hast been in Eden the garden of GOD; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of GOD; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (Ezekiel 28:13-15)
Here GOD tells Ezekiel of the anointed cherub that wast cast out of Heaven. He was created with precious stones and beautiful music and the Glory of GOD shown through him. This creature was the fifth living beast before GOD judged his pride and rebellion against GOD. His sIn was trying to be GOD and like GOD and forgetting that he was a created being. He was Lucifer, and is now known by many names; Satan, the Devil, the accuser of the brethren. GOD reminded Ezekiel that he was a defeated enemy, that while still having much power would be brought down before the nations that he deceived. His pride and arrogance would lead to his demise, ultimately in the Lake of Fire.
But until that day, he is allowed some reign since mankind forfeited our dominion over this earth. He will try every trick he has to get people to worship him instead of GOD, and he does so very well. Even those that don't believe in the 'supernatural' are caught up in his web of lies and deception. Jesus even called him the father of lies and we know he is a deceiver. His best trick is to have gotten so many people to not even acknowledge that he exists.
Even in the Church, many people go to extremes concerning his limited power and control, or our defenses and abilities when it comes to the Devil and his demons. Instead of understanding what GOD says about him, and us, they conjure up all kinds of myths, stories, and legends that have nothing to do with Biblical truth.
But those that don't know Jesus Christ as their Saviour are still in the grasp of that wicked one, and bound by the wages of sIn. GOD is not willing that you should perish, but wants you to surrender to Him on His terms and be born again. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with Him that is real and personal. GOD desires to give you a new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Jesus is GOD Almighty and has already defeated the Devil at the Cross of Calvary and He wants you to receive Him by Faith in His finished work for your sIn. Believe Him today.
