Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your GOD, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
For our transgressions are multiplied before Thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our GOD, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. (Isaiah 59:1-3, 12-13)
Today's scripture speaks directly to the heart of our problem; as people, a nation, and the Church.
Just as Israel did not hear from GOD because of their sIn, so we too have stopped hearing from GOD and His Word. This great nation, which once started with the protection and providence of GOD Almighty, is now rejecting Him and His morality and may soon cease to exist. The church (while the true Church can never be truly 'lost' for it is the Body of Christ), the visible church is ineffectual and meaningless for it no longer follows the GOD of the Bible, nor does it preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And we who are called by His name, act like He doesn't exist except as a ritual to perform on Sunday, if we bother.
We as a people, a nation, or the church have so strayed from GOD and His Holiness that I believe we may truly be under judgment. We, individually and corporately have sinned against a Holy GOD, and killed that which we are supposed to protect, we have called normal what GOD has rejected, we have lied and called it 'good business', and those that haven't done such outright have allowed it, or approved silently, or rejoiced that it was done. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Woe on us, for not exposing sIn, not proclaiming righteousness and the Authority of GOD's Word. Woe on us, for tacitly approving by our silence what GOD has said in His Word, our final authority on ALL matters of faith and practice, is an abomination. Woe on us, for not preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this lost and dying world, but instead worrying about social justice apart from the Judge of the whole earth.
The Gospel is what we are to be about: The good news that though your sins have separated you from GOD, He paid the price in your place on the Cross of Calvary. That GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that everyone everywhere should come to the knowledge of the truth, and repent of their sins. They should surrender to GOD on His terms, and receive by faith a brand new life. An abundant life of discipleship in Christ,an eternal life of fellowship in His church, and an everlasting life in relationship with GOD that is now and forever. Believe Jesus Christ is GOD, and became a man to pay the sin penalty for you, and receive His free gift of mercy and grace today.
If you are a forgiven Spirit filled part of the Body of Christ, repent and respond to His Word in obedience and service. Tell all you meet about His love for them as He gives you opportunity.
