I charge thee therefore before GOD, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom; preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and Doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the Truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. (2Ti 4:1-8)
Then we can say, as Paul did, that we have fought a good fight, not of the weapons of this world, but with the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD. When He is done with us, we can say we have finished all that GOD has given us to do and our race is done, ready to hear those blessed words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord". When He calls us Home, we can say we have endured to the end, and our faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary is more sure than when we believed, and we are ready to depart from this world and enter into His presence.
The hope we have in Him, and His precious promises, ought to spur us to be faithful in ministry, missions, and discipleship, all the while reaching people with the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and a new life in Christ by grace through faith. Because He has blessed and provided for our needs, we minister to those around us who are hurting and in need. Because He has loved us, we love one another and disciple one another through His Word to know more of Jesus Christ. Because of His love of every one and His mercy offered to those who will receive Him, we share from His Word the Good News of the Gospel to all who will hear, that they might believe in Him and repent and have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
