Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of GOD, even to Horeb. And the Angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
And He said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover He said, I AM the GOD of thy father, the GOD of Abraham, the GOD of Isaac, and the GOD of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon GOD. And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth My people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto GOD, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And He said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve GOD upon this mountain. And Moses said unto GOD, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The GOD of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them? And GOD said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand. And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: (Exo 3:1-2, 5-7, 10-14, 19-21)
GOD calls Moses in a special way, He attracts his attention with a bush that burns but is not consumed. When Moses responds, He speaks directly to Him out of the bush. GOD tells Moses He has heard the cries of His people, and will send Moses to Pharoah as GOD delivers His people from bondage. The Great I AM, GOD Almighty has prepared His servant Moses for this time, to accomplish His work, on behalf of His people, just as He told Abraham 430 years ago.
Moses may make objections, and ask questions, but GOD is not unaware of both Moses' abilities and problems, nor of Pharoah or the children of Israel response to Moses. He is in control, and will go with Moses all the way there, and back to this mountain where they will worship when the leave Egypt. GOD even foretells that they will receive the back wages from the citizens of Egypt when they depart.
We can trust GOD to prepare the way, to go with us, and to accomplish His work on us, when we are doing His will. He provides for the work of the ministry, so we can minister to the hurting and in need. He gave us His Word, and speaks through His Spirit so we can disciple, equip and encourage one another. He calls, commands, and commissions all of His Church to go, and as we go, proclaim the Good News of Salvation to all who will hear, that they may believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, that believing they might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Now is the right time and GOD calls you to trust what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new heart in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
