Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine: For He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. (Matthew 7:24-29)
The solid Rock of GOD's Word is a precious treasure to His saints. We should have the same reverence for it that we have for Him, for they are connected. The written Word speaks of the Living Word, from cover to cover. From Creation to Consummation He is there. Basing our trust on anything else is foolishness and leads to disaster, especially when the storms of life come raging. And they will come. But we have the authority of the Word of GOD to stand on, stand up for, speak out, preach and teach; and we can do so with confidence and boldness because He does not change, neither does His Word. As Jesus spoke with authority so can we when we handle the Word of Truth without deceit, and rightly divided we are not ashamed.
But you that are not of Christ, who have never been born again cannot understand the Kingdom, nor speak with authority from the Word for you do not have the Spirit of GOD to teach you all things. GOD loves you wants you to repent and become one of His, to have the mind of Christ through His Word, and be saved. But, you must believe. Believe that He is, that His Word is true, and that He died for your sIn and to give you eternal life; not just a future, but an abundant and everlasting life that will begin the moment you place your faith in Him and trust His finished work on the Cross of Calvary.
