Many pastors have destroyed My vineyard, they have trodden My portion under foot, they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto Me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart. The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the Sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace. They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD. (Jeremiah 12:10-13)
Those pastors and leaders that no longer stand by the Authority of GOD's Word, and do not preach it or teach it as the inerrant infallible inspired Word of GOD are destroying the people of GOD. Just as they did here in Jeremiah's day, when they taught the principles and commandments of men instead of the precepts and laws of GOD, those charged with instructing others in the Word must be true to it or they will lead the flock astray from the truth of GOD, sometimes even subteley or even in the name of GOD.
GOD rebuked these false teachers through His prophets, and His Word challenges us today to remain pure and take His Word as it is given and make the sense plain and give the meaning to the people. Not our opinion. Not our thoughts, but the straightforward Word of GOD. For without Him we can do nothing, and we are nothing, and if we don't know what He says, and that He says what He means and means what He says, we have no hope in this world. It is by the Word of GOD that we learn of Him and believe in Him. From Creation and the corruption that followed, to the catastrophic flood of Noah's day and the confusion that followed because of our sIn, we learn of Christ, His Cross for our salvation, and the consummation of all things that shall come.
Don't let GOD's wrath remain upon you because of your sIn, Jesus is not willing that any should perish, but wants you to repent, that is surrender to Him on His terms and turn away from your sIn and to HIm. Believe His Word and receive Him by faith today that you might be born again to new life in Christ. A brand new life in Him of discipleship and fellowship that is abundant and everlasting.
Wield the Sword of the Word properly in obedience to our Lord.
