And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I AM the LORD your God. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Ye shall do My Judgments, and keep Mine Ordinances, to walk therein: I AM the LORD your God. Ye shall therefore keep My Statutes, and My Judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I AM the LORD. (Lev. 18:1-5)
The Israelites were not to do as they pleased with one another. God put limits on their relationships as His children to keep them safe and because God has already solemnized the proper marriage as one man and one woman for life. The practices of the Egyptians and Canaanites had polluted the land with immoral habits, diseases, and death, and God commanded His children to live holy and pure lives before Him that He might be glorified in their faith in Him and in their obedience to His Laws.
Living holy lives in today’s culture is not easy. Lost people around us live as they please and practice immoral abominations with whomever they want. Their families and their children are sacrificed on the altar of convenience and they do that which God has condemned in the name of 'love' when all the time it is lust and sin. God has told us better things, and called His people to demonstrate holiness before Him. As we walk in His ways and glorify Him in our relationships and our families, though the culture mocks and taunts us, we can point others to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is the Lawgiver who created marriage and proper relations. No matter what man may say, no matter what earthly laws are passed, and no matter what sin is practiced, His is the final judgment that all will have to reckon with one way or the other. Lost sinners will either repent and surrender to God on His terms and receive His gift of life by faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary for sin or they will bow before their judge in sorrow as they receive the justice for their deeds and for their sin.
God has sent those of us that know Him out into this world to reach the lost that they might be saved from sin. He desires that His people strive to be holy and obedient unto Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our GOD has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of GOD so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of GOD might have life in His Name.
GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
