This He said signifying what death He should die

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honour. Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify Thy Name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of Me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me. (Joh 12:23-32)
The time has come. GOD's plan of Salvation is coming to fruition. Jesus is now steadfast, looking to the Cross which is ahead. He will be lifted up from the earth and glorified even in His death. His Name is glorified and exalted because of His obedience unto death, even the death of the Cross. But He would not shrink back, nor fail in His submission to the will of GOD, though He was troubled by the experiences that were facing Him. His Father is glorified in His fulfillment of all the Scriptures that foretold of all that the Son has done and will do this first time; and how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and the third day He was raised again according to the Scriptures.

The Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, one with the Father and the Spirit, was never separated from the Father or the Spirit, and despite all the sIn that would be laid on Him, He Himself was without sIn. Death would not hold Him, because the sIn which He bore in His own body on that tree was our sIn. The grave couldn't keep Him, because He is the Lord of life, and there is no fault in Him. He has judged the whole world guilty of sIn, and stepped into His creation to be the only sufficient and perfect sIn offering to pay our sIn debt. All who come to Him in repentance, turning from their sin, and faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, He will in no wise cast out, but reconcile them through His blood to the Father.

We who are His, born again by our faith in Him and His power in us, are called to minister to those around us that are hurting and in need, that people may see Jesus in us, the hope of Glory. We who are His, indwelt by His Spirit and adopted into His family, are commanded to love one another, as He loved us, that all may know we are His disciples. We who are His, called Christians, not because we say so, or because we go to church, but because we are like Him, are commissioned to take GOD's Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this lost and dying world, that those who believe the Good News and repent may have life in His Name.

For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.

In Christ,
Jefferson Sweet
