Thus shall it be in the Day when the Son of man is revealed

But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. (Mat 24:37-42)
After describing many terrible events that have and will occur in this world, Jesus relays some prophetic events concerning the Tribulation and the judgement of this lost and dying world. He concludes here with a description, that though applicable to the complacency and apathy of most of this world to spiritual things, is a description of the conditions at His return to this earth. This passage is not referring to the rapture of GOD's church, but to events during the Tribulation. Two different times, half the people alive will die in the judgment that GOD carries out upon this world and its people. While that seems harsh to us, it is just, for we are all under a death sentence for our sIn, and only the mercy of GOD, which is available to all, but extended to those who repent of their sIn, and receive Him by faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, can save us.

Those that die without Christ, in the Tribulation, or here and now, since they are already under condemnation for sIn, and guilty before a righteous and holy GOD, are sealed in their fate and in Hell, awaiting the final justice and judgement to the Lake of Fire for their unbelief, their works of unrighteousness and their sIn against GOD. It is a terrible fate, that we, who are saved by GOD are to warn all who are not secure in Christ. GOD loves everyone, and sent His Son, who knew no sIn, to die in our place and for our sIn, that we might be made the righteousness of Him, and not perish, but have everlasting life.

We who have been pardoned by the grace of GOD, are not at liberty to sIn as we want, but free from the Law of sIn and death to live in Him, and He is us, the life He would have us live. We are delivered, not to ourselves, for that was our problem before, but to a full and abundant life in Christ. We are saved, made whole, and perfect before GOD, because of the Spirit of Christ within us. We are both sanctified, and being made Holy, by the work of the Holy Spirit and the washing of the Word, to conform us to the image of His dear Son, until He takes us Home.

While GOD is still working on us, and will perform that work until the Day of Jesus Christ, He has commanded us to, as His ambassadors, to minister to the hurting and those in need, as He gives the increase. He has called us to be His disciples, studying to shew ourselves approved unto GOD, searching the Scriptures that we might learn of Him. We are called to love one another, and to go with the Gospel to this lost and dying world that desperately needs to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. As we go, we are to preach the Word, that those who hear and believe may receive life in His Name.

For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.

In Christ,
Jefferson Sweet
