Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to Thy Word. With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy Commandments. Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O LORD: teach me Thy Statutes. With my lips have I declared all the Judgments of Thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Thy Testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in Thy Precepts, and have respect unto Thy Ways. I will delight myself in Thy Statutes: I will not forget Thy Word. (Psalms 119:9-16)
GOD speaks to us through His Word, and reveals sIn that still exists in our thoughts and actions, it may also reveal inaction that we need to correct to be obedient to the Will of GOD. The more we know of Scripture, the more we know of Him, for it speaks of Him. From the first pages which reveal His work of Creation, to the last pages that announce His victory, and the consummation of all things, the Scriptures are about Him. But, we also can see ourselves, in the character, nature and actions of other sinful people who interacted with, and because of our Righteous and Holy GOD.
We can rejoice in His Word, study it to know Him better, and be obedient to what He tells us to do in its pages. The Spirit will teach us His promises, warn us through His Judgments, and reveal Jesus Christ in every book that we may tell others of the Good News of His sacrificial death in their place on the Cross of Calvary.
That is the ultimate purpose of GOD's Word; to reveal our need of a Saviour to pay for our sIn against GOD, to show us that we cannot save ourselves, and only a perfect sacrifice would be accepted, and to give us hope that GOD Himself, Jesus Christ the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, stepped out of Heaven and paid that price.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of fellowship and discipleship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Believe in Him and His finished and perfect work on that cruel Roman Cross, and be born again to live in Him, cleansed of your sIn, because of your faith in His Word.
In Christ,
