And GOD said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So GOD created man in His own image, in the image of GOD created He him; male and female created He them. And GOD blessed them, and GOD said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And GOD said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And GOD saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen 1:26-31)
The perfect man, with dominion over the rest of creation, all under the authority of GOD. Man, made in the very image of GOD, intelligent, emotional, and spiritual, all wrapped up in a body perfectly designed to do what it does. Body, Soul, Spirit and all in tune with GOD and His ways, until sIn entered by that first man and all mankind was sentenced to death and separation from GOD if they died without Him and the redemption He provided in response to their faith in Him.
All was perfect in the beginning, all was very good. Mankind and all the animals ate vegetables and fruit, every green herb and every fruit yielding seed. But as grand and good as GOD's crowning achievement was, man would soon rebel and change all that GOD had made. We now live in an imperfect world cursed by sIn where death reigns and suffering is the new normal. Our only hope in this life and the eternity beyond is life in Jesus Christ and the Salvation that He offers through faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary.
Now only those redeemed by the blood that was shed on that cruel Roman cross have the assurance of eternal life and the promise of a future perfection that will reflect what once was. But, we don't just look for Heaven and Home as a place, but because of who Jesus is, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, the redeemer and perfect sacrifice in our place, we who are redeemed because of our trust in what He has done, now are secure in Him. That is the Good News that we are commanded to share with everyone we meet, that He paid the sIn debt that we cannot, and provided for our forgiveness and Salvation.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and trust Him for your Salvation and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. He that spoke the worlds into existence and created man in His own image offers forgiveness and Salvation to those that receive Him by faith in who He is, and what He will do for those that believe in Him.
