And GOD said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And GOD made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. (Gen 1:14-19)
Even more important, He knows each of us by name and knows what has happened and what will occur. He knows the ministry opportunities He has for us, and knows what we will do. That does not negate our free will to respond in faith and obedience to Him, nor does His foreknowledge of us and our actions undermine our responsibility or our choice to accept Him and trust His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary for us. He is sovereign and perfect, but He also allows us our choice of trust or disobedience to His Word.
Because of His grace toward us, and His judgment on sIn, we are commanded to go and tell all we meet of His mercy and love. We show His power, not only in creation, but also over sIn, death, and the grave. We proclaim His victory and warn of His judgment so that those who hear and believe might surrender to Him on His terms and be born again by faith in the work He has already done on that cruel Roman Cross. That is the Good News that we are commanded to take with us as we go to this lost and dying world.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with Him that is real and personal. The One who put all the stars in place and knows you by name offers you forgiveness and reconciliation with Him through faith in what He has already done for you. If you will trust His free offer of grace and believe His Word in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Respond in faith to our great and Sovereign GOD who loves you and gave Himself for you.
In Christ,
