Now the Word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying, Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the LORD of Hosts, the GOD of Israel; Behold, I will bring My Words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee. But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in Me, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 39:15-18)
We are reminded in this that GOD knows all about our circumstances, and even when everything is falling apart around us, He is still in control of all things. Whether He directs them, or allows them we are safe in His arms. Even if He chooses to take us Home to Him that is good as well. Disasters happen, most of them are man-made because this world is broken and cursed because of our sIn. Sometimes, GOD accomplishes an event against this evil world, but most events, whether the house that burns down, or the person struck by lightening, on up to the big fires and storms are simply allowed to happen in this cursed and broken world filled with sInful people.
But just as this Word was spoken to Ebedmelech, the servant of the King, so are we given hope in this world as servants of our King. Our Blessed Hope, Jesus Christ is coming back to rule the nations, and His servants will witness the judgment that He has already pronounced. We are safe, for we are secure in Christ and will forever be with Him because of our faith and trust in GOD.
Those that have never put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and been born again, have no such hope. GOD says we are all under condemnation because of sIn, but, GOD is not willing that any should perish. He loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. You must repent, that is, turn away from your sIn, and surrender to GOD on His terms. He desires to give you a new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. You must believe in His finished work on the Cross of Calvary as sufficient payment for your sIn, and trust Him for forgiveness and salvation. Be obedient to His Word of Hope today.
Be a true servant of the King, and share His message of Hope,
In Christ,
