And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine; Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD. (Num. 3:11-13)
God had set apart all the firstborn as holy because He had delivered them from bondage to Egypt. All those who were covered by the blood on the doorposts God passed over and delivered them that they might serve Him. He declared that all the Levites, the sons of Aaron, were to be priests in the tabernacle, and later the temple, of God and servants unto the nation of Israel to intercede among the people and unto God with the sacrifices and offerings which were brought to Him. They, like the firstborn, were hallowed by God unto His service, not by their righteousness, but by the blood which sanctified and set them apart unto God.
Today all the saints of God, covered by the blood of Jesus Christ because of their repentance of their sins and faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary are sanctified servants of the Most High God. Those who know Him and are secure in His life and righteousness, not by their own works or merit, but by His blood and their surrender to Him on His terms, are priests and ministers of God and unto one another. We who know Christ and are born again are set apart in service unto God to reach the lost, to teach the disciples, and to preach the Word that all who are in God’s Church may know Him and grow in Him until He is done with us.
Until that day, God has sent those of us that know Him out into this world to reach the lost that they might be saved from sin. He desires that His people strive to be holy and obedient unto Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our GOD has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of GOD so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of GOD might have life in His Name.
GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
