Abraham believed in the LORD and He counted it to him for righteousness

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the Law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: Because the Law worketh wrath: for where no Law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the Law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before Him whom he believed, even GOD, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. (Rom 4:13-17)
GOD's promise to Abraham because of his faith was 430 years before the Civil and Ceremonial Law was given to Moses and the Israelites. Abraham was accounted a friend with GOD because of His faith in  GOD, and it was imputed to Him for righteousness. His faith brought him in right relationship with GOD and it was accounted as saving faith. The Royal or Moral Law given as the Great Commandments and the Ten Commandments has always been GOD's expectation of His people, for it delineates how He wants us to love Him and love each other, but the rest was added because of sIn, and to show us our need of Jesus Christ to save us by faith through His grace, forgiveness and love. We then keep His Word by faith through Christ who strengthens us to do His will and work.

Without His grace shed abroad on our hearts, given because of our faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, we would still be lost and separated from GOD who made us, and loves us so much that He took our place and paid our sIn debt. Because of our faith, we are born again, and seen as righteous, not to continue in sIn, but to go His work here in this lost and dying world. Salvation by grace through faith is not a license to sIn that we might be forgiven, but liberty to live in Christ and He in us, as new creatures in Christ, and to do His will and work, as He conforms us to the image of His dear Son.

Until the day He is done with us, and we are Home with Him, we are to minister to the hurting and in need around us, as GOD gives the increase. We are, as His ambassadors, to live in this world, but not of it. We are to disciple one another in His Word, and love one another as members one of another in the body of Christ. We are to go where He sends us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and as we go, proclaim the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation by faith through grace to all who will hear and believe that they might have life in His Name.

For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.

In Christ,
Jefferson Sweet
