These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee: As Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou hast given Him. And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent. I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Thou Me with Thine own self with the Glory which I had with Thee before the world was. (Joh 17:1-5)
Our Lord prayed to the Father that He would be glorified in all things. His time was at hand, He was ready to be offered, and He lifted up His High Priestly prayer to the Father. He acknowledge the Glory of the Father and prayed that in the Cross which was to come that Jesus would be glorified as well in His finished and perfect work. He prayed for us that we would remain in Him and continue through Him to do His will and work here on this earth. He thanked the Father for the Salvation that He has given to all who believe in Him and repent that we all may be one with Him and with the Father through the indwelling Spirit.
Eternal life with GOD is a gift given freely to those who repent of their sIn and offences against our Holy GOD, and believe that He has paid their sIn debt through His own sacrifice in our place. It is by grace through faith, and not of works lest any man should boast. We are all guilty of sIn, and sIn must be paid for. Its wages are death, and yet GOD has paid that debt through His offering of Himself on the Cross of Calvary. We who have received Him by trusting in His Word are born again by the Spirit of GOD that we might continue as His servants, family, and friends, the work He has for us to do.
As His servants we serve those around us who are hurting and in need that they may come to know Him through us and be blessed by the mercies of our GOD. As His family we are to love one another and grow in His Word that all may know we are His disciples and members one of another. As His friends we are empowered by His Spirit to take the whole Word to the whole world that all may know of Him and the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are to share Him and the Gospel of Peace and reconciliation with the Father through faith and repentance so that those who hear and believe may have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
