And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him. And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. (Exo 2:1-10)
The birth of Moses. The man that GOD would use to deliver the Israelites from their bondage, at his birth was in peril from the king's command to kill all the baby boys. But Moses' parents feared GOD, not the king, and so took steps to protect him, and trusted GOD with the results. GOD not only kept him safe in his little lifeboat, but directed him to Pharoah's daughter when she came to the river. GOD even had his sister as a lookout, so that Pharoah's daughter could hire the mother of Moses as a nurse (of her own son) while the daughter of Pharoah adopted Moses and raised him in the courts of Egypt.
GOD will use even the unbelievers to accomplish His plans and goals, for He is Sovereign. He wants to use the obedient and trusting, but either way He will get the glory for what He does, for He is Lord. The preserving and raising of Moses would only be for a season, for Moses himself will turn to GOD and reject the 'glory' of Egypt for the greater good of GOD. GOD is continuing in the preservation and protection of His people, Israel.
We are to seek Him, exalt His glory, and hold fast that which is good so that others may see Jesus in us, the Hope of Glory. We are, as His ministers and co-laborers, to reach out and provide to those who are hurting what GOD blesses us with. We are commanded to equip one another for the ministry, and to disciple one another in the Word that we may grow thereby. We are commissioned to proclaim the Good News of Salvation, by faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to this lost and dying world, and as we go, tell all who will hear of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that they might believe, and believing have Life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. As Moses' parents feared Him, GOD calls you to trust what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. Just as He provided for the physical salvation of Moses, He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new heart in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
