GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His Glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the Word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they. For unto which of the angels said He at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to me a Son? (Heb 1:1-5)
We once again turn our attention to the New Testament, this time in the general epistle to the Hebrews. We will take our journey through the Scriptures and see that the author wants us to see that Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, is so much better than anything else man looks to for spirituality, Salvation, and solace in this life. This first section compares the living Lord to the angels, who are His ministers, and while they are sons of GOD in the created sense, as we are in the adopted sense, none of them are The Son of GOD, the only begotten of the Father, the Word made flesh, the Creator of all things, even the angels. He is one with the Father and the Spirit, and He is worthy of all praise, for He satisfied our sIn debt when He humbled Himself and took our place, paying the price for sIn we cannot pay and redeeming us from sIn, death, and the grave.
GOD calls all who will, to repent and receive Jesus Christ, by faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. All who are not in Christ by His grace must turn from their sIn, which He, the righteous Judge has already condemned, and turn to GOD for forgiveness and Salvation. All who are secure in His grace and mercy, as new creatures in Christ, must live lives of holiness and righteousness, not our own for ours is as filthy rags, but He in us, through the Spirit that indwells us, and His Word which empowers and equips us, reckoning ourselves to be dead, to the Law, to sIn, and to this lost and dying world, and living by faith and not by sight.
GOD calls all who have come to Him and received Jesus Christ to serve Him, His ambassadors and ministers of righteousness to those around us who are hurting and in need as GOD provides, that they may see our good works and glorify our Heavenly Father. He commands us to love one another as members of His body and to disciple one another in the Word of GOD until we have all grown into the full measure of Him who first loved us, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He has commissioned us as His witnesses to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation, telling all who will hear the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation with the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit that they may believe, and in believing have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
