Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. (1Ti 6:17-21)
The true riches, that which will last come from the blessings of GOD, from that which we do for and through Christ who lives in us, from obedience to His will and His work in this world. While there is nothing overtly wrong with having money and things, to be used for GOD and the Kingdom, trusting in those riches for our safety, security, and that which is eternal, is a fool's errand, for the things of this world, and the lust thereof will pass away. Trusting in our works, riches, science or philosophy, or religion: any thing other than Jesus Christ and Him alone will not save us, for He alone is the only way of Salvation.
Those that obey GOD, keep His Word, and follow our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, will abide with Him for ever, for those who are truly in Christ will remain with Him. We have the eternal and abundant life now, and it is no longer our life which we live, but He in us, the hope of Glory, which we live by faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. Our repentance and surrender to Him means we are a new creature, translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His dear Son and now walking in newness of life until He calls us Home to be with Him.
Until that day, we are on mission for our Lord, to do His will and accomplish His work of ministry, discipleship, and Evangelism in this broken and sinful world we sojourn through as strangers and pilgrims. As His ambassadors, we minister to those who are hurting as GOD provides and blesses. As His servants, we disciple one another in love and grace until all have grown up in Christ and the full measure of His Word. As His witnesses we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear, and as we go, sharing His Good News of reconciliation with the Father through repentance and faith in Him and Him alone, that those who believe might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
