Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the Law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. (Joh 7:21-24)
Jesus rebuked those who were not only judging His actions based on their own prejudices and beliefs, but also those who misinterpreted the Law, selectively applied it, or purposefully ignored it for their own agenda. GOD's Word is not to be piece-mealed for our purposes, but rightly divided and understood for Doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and instruction in righteousness. And all we hear and observe around us should be interpreted through its lenses, not changed because of what the latest 'expert' has claimed. We are to search the Scriptures daily whether those things are so, and rest assuredly on the Truth of GOD's Word and the solid rock of the Scriptures which do not change.
Man's opinions, 'authoritative' statements, and testimonies change with the latest discovery, the next expert, or the current fad, but the Word of our GOD endureth for ever. It is perfect in its entirety, preserved for our understanding, inspired, inerrant, and eternal. It teaches us correct thinking, identifies wrong thinking that we may reprove it, points out bad behaviour for our example and repentance, and leads us in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. All Scripture is for our example and for our learning, but not all is applied to us, especially when taken out of context. We are to hear it preached, read its words, study to shew ourselves approved unto GOD, memorize it passages, meditate on its precepts, and apply its principles and Truth in faith and obedience.
Our Lord calls us to judge with righteous judgment, using the lens of His Word, and in love, serving those who are hurting and in need. He commands us to love one another and to grow in His Word and the knowledge of our Saviour. Jesus Christ has commissioned His people to proclaim His Gospel and share the Good News of reconciliation with GOD through repentance and faith in Him and His finished work on the Cross of Calvary with those around us that they might hear and believe, and in believing have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
