And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying, Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense, And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate. And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded; (Exo 35:4-10)
Moses comes down from the mountain and gives the Commandments and all the Instructions of the Lord to the people. GOD calls for His people to give of their substance willingly, with a cheerful heart to the Lord, for it all belongs to Him. He has the right and Authority to demand it all, but He wanted the offering to be willingly not forced. This was not a tax or a fee, but a joyous occasion to provide for the place of worship that GOD commanded to be built.
GOD wants our worship, our praise, our giving, and our offering of ourselves to be of a willing heart. We worship Him not only because He alone is GOD, but because we love Him. We praise Him for all His mighty works, especially His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. We give, with a cheerful heart as He leads, willingly and abundantly, because of His blessings. We offer ourselves, not only because He directs us, but because we are His, bought with a price, redeemed and forgiven, and we owe Him everything.
Because of who Jesus is and what He has done for us, we offer ourselves in ministry to those who are hurting and in need, that they may see Jesus in us, the hope of Glory. We learn of Him and grow to be more like Him as we are discipled in His Word. Because of what He has done for us, we go and tell the Good News of Jesus Christ to all we meet. As we go, we share the Gospel that those who hear may believe, and in believing have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
