For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel; Behold, therefore I will stretch out Mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out Mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them. (Ezekiel 25:6-7, 16-17)
GOD is not just concerned about Judah and Jerusalem. Here in this passage from Ezekiel, He pauses to rebuke and chastise nations that surround Israel and are rejoicing in her calamity. He condemns the Edomites, the Ammonites, and the Philistines because of not only their own sIn and paganism, but their continued attacks and harassment of the Jews. All of these nations except the Philistines are no more as a nation and a people. They have been conquered and absorbed into the stronger nations around them. The Philistines continue today to plague Israel as the Palestinians, and will do so up to the very end, when GOD conquers and destroys all the nations that come against His people. He still watches over the Jews, and has not forgotten them, though His primary focus today is the Church, and we are His ambassadors to reach the nations.
We, who are His, are to be about the Father's business. We are to tell all nations, peoples, and tongues of the Good News that Jesus loves them and died to provide for their Salvation. GOD hates sIn, and has already judged all of mankind as guilty because of Adam. We are also guilty because of our own sIn, and it is only through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary that we can be reconciled with GOD and have eternal life. Those of us who have believed and received Jesus Christ by faith in His finished work in our place now experience forgiveness from GOD, and fellowship one to another in His Body, the Church.
Those that are without, that have never trusted Jesus Christ and been born again, are still under condemnation. But, GOD is not willing that you should perish, but wants you to come to the knowledge of the Truth. The Truth that Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. GOD desires that you receive by Faith a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Believe He has paid the sIn debt you owe with His humble sacrifice for you, and receive Him today.
