Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Heb 13:5-6, 20-21)
In this last chapter of the epistle to the Hebrews, the author lists several short instructions and admonitions as a wrap-up to his discourse on the superiority of Christ above all else and our faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary as the only way to please GOD and be in right relationship and fellowship with Him. GOD instructs us in holiness and righteousness, that we might glorify Him in our walk with Him.
He calls His church, the body of Christ, to be holy because He is Holy, to be as He is, for we are His, we are not our own. We are His workmanship, we are His servants, we are His disciples, and we are to do of His good pleasure while we sojourn as His ambassadors, in this broken and sinful world but not of it, to accomplish His work and do His will of ministry, missions, and discipleship as we do the work of evangelism to this lost and dying world.
His Church, on mission with Him is to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need at His direction that we might administer grace and comfort to those who need Him. His people, members one of another, are to love one another as He loved us, and to disciple one another in His Word that we might grow thereby until we are all grown up into the full measure of Jesus Christ, the Apostle and High Priest of our profession. His witnesses, in service and in love, are to take the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation with the Father through repentance and faith in the Son, and as we go in the power of the Holy Spirit tell all who will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that they might believe and in believing have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
