And He sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. And He took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when He had taken him in His arms, He said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of such children in My Name, receiveth Me: and whosoever shall receive Me, receiveth not Me, but Him that sent Me. (Mar 9:35-37)
We serve, not to earn or keep any of GOD'S grace or favour, for we who are in Christ have already received His righteousness, and are secure in Him, but because of His example, and because the love of GOD constrains us and commands us to love one another as He first loved us. We serve because we are not above our Master, and He came to serve, even to give His life a ransom for many, and to pay the penalty for our sin that we could not pay. GOD commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, and we now in and through Him who dwells within, love and serve others, not for our glory or to accomplish our goals, but that GOD may be glorified in us. We are His workmanship and ought to be doing that which He has set us apart to do, by His power, and in accordance with His will and His Word until He is done with us and calls us Home to be with Him.
Until that day, His servants are to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need, with the Word of righteousness and reconciliation, rightly divided and fitly spoken, as ambassadors of the King to this lost and dying world. While we are here, we are to love one another and disciple one another in the Word of GOD that we may be perfect, fully equipped to every good work. GOD has called us to serve, commanded us to love, and commissioned us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we are to go, and as we go, in the power of the Holy Spirit within us, proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of GOD might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
