Who is a GOD like unto Thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retaineth not His anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which Thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. (Micah 7:18-20)
The conclusion of Micah reminds us that no matter how bad it seems, no matter what our circumstances, GOD is bigger than anything in this world. He is a GOD of deliverance and wants what is best for His children just as earthly fathers do. He is also a GOD of mercy for those that have truly repented and placed their trust in Him as their Saviour.
His forgiveness because of the blood of Jesus Christ is available to all who will surrender to Him on His terms and receive it. His promises are true, and He will perform all the judgments He has said, but He will also pour out His blessings on those in whom He delights. While He may discipline His own when they need it, He also favors them in their obedience. It's not something we earn, it what He does because of His character, love, mercy and grace in Jesus Christ.
He restored Israel to her place once, and will do it again on a grander scale. He can restore you as well. All that sIn has destroyed He can renew. A right relationship with Him will lead to right relationships with others. His blessings on us will lead to blessings toward those around us. His grace and mercy in us will show in our love for everyone around us.
GOD is a GOD of judgment and a GOD of mercy. Choose whether you will face Him as Judge or Saviour today.
