And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of GOD, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of GOD. Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of GOD, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy GOD. Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy GOD, and Him only shalt thou serve. (Mat 4:3-10)
We too, are to learn and use GOD's Word in every battle and situation we find ourselves in. Whether it is an attack from without, or our own flesh, we hide GOD's Word in our heart that we might not sIn against GOD. We meditate therein day and night, that we may observe to do all that He has commanded. We hear His voice from His Word and our faith is increased. We read the very Words of GOD and are blessed and rejoice in what He has for us. We study to shew ourselves approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. We are to desire His Word more than our necessary food; like meat, bread, milk and the occasional desert we feast on His bountiful and precious promises, precepts, commands, and directions that we might know Doctrine, hear reproof, understand correction, and receive instruction in righteousness.
As committed and disciplined followers of Jesus, we are in His Word so that we are equipped for ministry, encouraged in discipleship, and enabled for evangelism. We disciple one another so that we grow in grace and the knowledge of Him in love and from His Word. We minister to those who are in need and are hurting in this lost and dying world. We live the Gospel we preach, and as we go, we take His Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ so that those who hear may believe, and in believing may have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
