And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. (1Co 14:7-12)
Paul continues his treatise on Spiritual gifts, and the more excellent way of charity, with this warning of how the gifts should be used in witnessing and in worship, not for our glory, but for GOD and the edification of His Church. Whatever gifts GOD gives us should always be used under His guidance and direction for the work He has for us to do, and according to His will. When witnessing we are to be obedient to Him and speak the Truth in love, in services and worship we ought to glorify GOD and truly worship in Spirit and in Truth, not satisfying ourselves or entertaining.
Whether other languages, or irreverent music that feeds our own desires instead of the Spirit, these things which are of this world and of the flesh which lusts against the Spirit should be repented of and forsaken by GOD's people. It not only hurts our testimony and our fellowship with one another, it hurts the cause of Christ for unbelievers looking at us, who don't understand the things of the Spirit of GOD are further confused and driven away instead of drawn to Christ.
Those of us who are born again from above, and have a true relationship with GOD through repentance and our faith in His finished and perfect work are to lift Him up and live the Gospel we preach, so that others are drawn to Him. We are to minister to those who are hurting and in need, as GOD gives the increase, so that they may see Jesus in us. We are to love one another and disciple one another so that we may grow through His Word and become more like Him and less like ourselves for His glory. We are to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, and as we go, make disciples with the Gospel of Salvation from His Word that those who hear and believe might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
