No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. Then came to Him His mother and His brethren, and could not come at Him for the press. And it was told Him by certain which said, Thy mother and Thy brethren stand without, desiring to see Thee. And He answered and said unto them, My mother and My brethren are these which hear the Word of God, and do it. (Luke 8:16-21)
God will make manifest, in His time and according to His will, all things, good and bad. Those who work in secret or hide their agendas will be revealed, either in this life as plots are exposed, or in the judgment as sins are judged. Jesus wanted His listeners to live in the light and shine as lights in the darkness, hearing and doing the will and Word of God. Even that which seems good will be shown as worldly and unrighteous in those who are not of God. As important as earthly relationships are they do not compare to the spiritual relationship with God.
For the person who does not have a relationship with God through faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary they are condemned already and under judgment. God’s gift of grace through faith offers whosoever will to come to Him and surrender to Him on His terms. He offers new life, forgiveness, and reconciliation with God to all who repent and put their trust in Him unto Salvation. His Spirit points all to Christ that we might hear and obey. The light of His Word shines in this world and brings to light our sin and that which is in darkness that we may repent and be cleansed of all that is not of God. In Christ we are part of the family of God and His people hear His Word in order to do all that He has commanded, to reach the lost, to teach the nations, and preach His Word, until He is done with us.
Until that day, God sends those of us who are His saints and know Him out into this world to reach the lost that they might be saved from sin. He desires that His people strive to be holy and obedient unto Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our God has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of God so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of God might have life in His Name.
God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. God calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with God, forgiveness from God, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is God the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
