Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day GOD ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And GOD blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which GOD created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, (Gen 2:1-4)
Here we see GOD is at rest, not because He is tired, but because He has finished all His work of creation and it is all very good. No sIn, death, disease, suffering or pain. No rain, thorns, carnivores or separation from GOD. He has created all things for His purposes and created man to have dominion and to care for His creation. He has created each kind for their purpose, and each is called very good.
On this special day of rest (Sabbath) GOD hallows, or sanctifies, the rest and the day. He knows His creation, and our limits even in His perfect creation. He also declared this rest and day Holy because it was a day to worship Him, Our Lord and King, as creator, provider, and GOD. He is Worthy, and here in this week, the worship was without sIn, but perfect in love and fellowship with GOD.
When our Lord Jesus Christ consummates all thing and all is restored, that worship will once again be perfect in Him, in love, and fellowship with GOD. The Son of GOD who is GOD the Son will have brought all things in submission to Him and all will worship the Father who is above all and glorified in all, the Son who gave Himself for the sIn of the whole world and is Lord of all, and the Spirit who teaches the Word and points all to Jesus Christ.
Until that day, we are to share the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation with GOD through faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. We are to minister to the hurting and in need as GOD gives the increase, we are to disciple one another in love and the Word, and we are to preach and proclaim GOD's message of Salvation to everyone we meet.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and be born again, and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Trust Him and believe His Word and what He has already done for you on that cruel Roman cross in your place for forgiveness of your sIn and the Salvation that He has purchased with His own blood that you might have life in His Name.
