It is finished

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My GOD, my GOD, why hast thou forsaken Me? Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of GOD. (Mat 27:45-54)

    From noon (6th hour from daybreak) until 3pm, a supernatural darkness came upon Jerusalem and Judaea. As the sIn of all mankind was laid on Him, and all of GOD's wrath was paid for, Jesus cried out from Psalm 22. Not separated from His Father, but faithful to the Scriptures, He pointed those who will hear to His Word, which testifies of Him. When all was fulfilled, and everything was accomplished, He willingly gave up the ghost, crying, "It is finished". GOD tore the veil in the temple, for it was no longer needed as He was and is the final sacrifice for those who believe. Those around Him testified of not only His character and righteousness, but also to the Father's glory, when they correctly identified our Lord as the Son of GOD.

    He paid our price, and it pleased the Father. The penalty for sIn had been met, and the Salvation of those who had trusted in Messiah and those that would believe in Him had been purchased. He endured the Cross, because of the joy of Salvation and the redemption of those who repent and trust in Him, and the resurrection that would follow, proving once again the Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, our Creator, Redeemer, and King.

    We, who know Him, because of our faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, must live out in practice the faith by which we stand, ministering to others as GOD gives the increase. We are to grow in grace and faith, loving one another and being discipled through His Word, that we might become more like Him. We are to share our faith, telling all we meet the Good News of Jesus Christ that those who hear the Gospel might know His mercy and believe and in believing have life in His Name.

    For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
