This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My Glory. And I will sanctify the Tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to Me in the priest's office. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their GOD. And they shall know that I AM the LORD their GOD, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I AM the LORD their GOD. (Exo 29:42-46)
GOD further describes and instructs Moses and Aaron concerning the priests office, clothes, and the sacrifices to sanctify the priests, and the High Priest. Since GOD is Holy, sinful man must be cleansed and sanctified to come into His presence, and all the efforts and sacrifices that Aaron and his sons were to go through were directed at that purpose. GOD would meet His people at the Tabernacle, and the representatives of the people would prepare themselves and the people to meet GOD by covering their sIn and offering the sacrifices that GOD required.
Because of the final sacrifice of Jesus Christ and our faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, we don't have to offer sacrifices to GOD for our sIn. He is our sIn offering, and His blood shed in our place gives us boldness to approach the Throne that we might have mercy. Those of us who have truly received Him by faith have had our sIns forgiven, not just covered. They are taken away, not as a license to sIn again, but liberty in Christ and freedom from the Law of sIn and death.
We are free in Christ, however, not to do as we please, but to do His Will and work, for His Glory and in obedience to our Great High Priests as priests of GOD. We are to minister to the hurting and in need, as GOD gives the increase. We are to disciple one another in love and in His Word, that we might grow in knowledge and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are commanded to take His Word to this lost and dying world and preach the Gospel to everyone we meet. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all who will hear, that they might believe, and in believing they might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
