Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the Scriptures, The Stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The Kingdom of GOD shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this Stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He spake of them. (Mat 21:42-45)
Confronted by the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of His time, Jesus rightly applied the Truth of Scripture to their falsehoods and accusations. The priests and pharisees rightly understood the accusation directed toward them, but remained in denial of their rejection of the Messiah who had come. He was a threat to their power, position, and prestige and they weren't about to let Truth get in the way.
Too often, we get set in our ways, or our position, and when confronted by the Truth from GOD's Word, we insist on our opinion, rather than submit to the reproof and correction of GOD, just as these men did. We should instead repent, and let GOD's Word enter softened hearts that we might hear and obey. Whether the message of GOD is for Salvation, or some area of our life that is not surrendered to Him, or His call on the life we live that is no longer our own, our response is to be; yes, Lord. He alone is the Saviour of those who are dead in their trespasses and sins, He alone is Lord and Master of those who have surrendered to Him on His terms, and He, with the Father and the Spirit, is Worthy of all worship, praise, and adoration, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son.
Those of us who know Him, and have His Spirit present within because of our faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary are to be obedient to His Word. We are to minister to one another in the power of GOD, and to those without as He gives the increase. We are to disciple one another in love and in His Word that we may grow thereby. We are to take the Gospel to this lost and dying world, and as we go, share the Good News of Jesus Christ to all who will hear, that they may believe and in believing have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
