Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My Word, then are ye My disciples indeed; And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free. They answered Him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest Thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sIn is the servant of sIn. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:31-36)
The Truth of Scripture makes us free. Free from sIn. Free from bondage to sIn and its desires. Free to love. Free to serve our Saviour. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of GOD. Our Faith in Christ makes us free from the debt of sIn and death we owe to GOD. Our trust in His Word, both written and Living makes us free from the penalty of sIn, the power of sIn, and eventually the presence of sIn. That is true freedom in Christ. Not freedom or license to sIn, but freedom from sIn.
But it only happens to those that are the truly blood bought and born again children of GOD. Those that have never received Jesus Christ and His free gift of salvation are still dead in their trespasses and sins, still guilty before a righteous and Holy GOD who has condemned them to a devils Hell. Only the Mercy and Grace of our Loving Lord can save them from the Judgment that is already upon sinners.
But GOD in His infinite mercy does not want anyone to perish, and He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked; He calls all people everywhere to repent and surrender to Him on His terms that they might live.
Receive His gift of salvation in Jesus Christ today, and if you are one of His tell others of the Good News of Jesus Christ and His shed blood on the Cross of Calvary.
