Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2Co 3:12-18)
For the Christian, our hope is in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. Not only did He pay our sin debt, that we could not pay, but He reconciled us to the Father through His blood, as the perfect and final sacrifice for sIn. The Old Testament spoke of this in types, imagery, and forecasts, but did not reveal directly everything that GOD would do for us in the grace of the New Covenant. It is the revelation of GOD, first in Creation and continues with His dealing with people of this earth in general, and with Israel in particular, all the while revealing Himself as Lord of all.
The Spirit, which guides us into all truth, can and does reveal to people who earnestly desire Him, the reality of Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, in the Scriptures, both in the Old Testament and in the New. Though many are blinded by prIde, sIn, or deception on the part of the enemies of GOD, GOD can and does reveal Himself to those who diligently seek Him that they might have saving faith, the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen, in Him.
GOD calls His children, the people of His Church, the members of His body, to go and tell, that all might hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. He commands His own, as His ambassadors of the Kingdom of GOD, to minister to those who are hurting and in need, that they might see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. We are to disciple one another in the Word, sanctifying the Lord GOD in our hearts, and being ready always to answer every man that asketh us a reason for the hope that is in us, with meekness and fear. We are to love one another, as members one of another, as Christ loved us, that all may know we are His disciples. We are commissioned to take the Gospel to this lost and dying world, that those who believe in Him and repent of their sins might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
