Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Yet He also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back His words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men, and not GOD; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out His hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together. (Isaiah 31:1-3)
GOD chastised Israel for going to outside agents for help from their enemies instead of repenting and falling on their faces before their GOD. Men cannot save us. Man's ways cannot help us. And relying on any system or direction other than what GOD has already told us in His Word is foolishness and rebellion. Even in the Church, when we take our eyes off our Saviour and look to the world and its ways to accomplish the work that GOD has given us we are working against GOD for the very things He has commanded us to do.
Only by following, in relationship and discipleship, our Living Lord can we be the shining Bride of Christ that GOD wants His Church to be. He has called us to it, and He will empower us to accomplish it, when we are true to His Word and His ways. Any efforts outside His will and in opposition to His Word will fail.
We in the Church have received Salvation from the Lord, and it is our mission and command to tell others that don't yet know Jesus Christ of His love, mercy and grace. If we, who are partakers of this manifold grace of GOD, won't share it with those who desperately need Him to change their lives so they can be born again and live eternally with Christ now and forever, won't love others as He did, who will? The world and all its false systems and religions will be perfectly happy to fill the lost with lies and false hope if we will not give the true Hope that is in Christ Jesus.
And if you are one of those outside the body of Christ, that has never surrendered to GOD on His terms and received Him by Faith in His finished work on the Cross of Calvary, I urge you to believe today. GOD is not willing that any should perish, and calls everyone everywhere to repent, and come to the knowledge of the truth. Look to GOD for forgiveness, freedom, and a relationship that results in a new life in Christ, while there is still time. The world and all its false hopes can't save you, only in Jesus can you find peace and safety.
