Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage. Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.(Est 7:3-6)
That does not take care of the plot against the Jews however. Esther has exposed Haman and his plot before the king, and Haman has been disposed of which means she is safe in the palace, but her people are still at odds with the king’s decree. God is still working things out to protect his people. He had Mordecai in the right place to protect the king and be honoured by the king. He had Esther in the right place to expose the enemy and reveal the plot. He will take care of the threat to His people.
No matter what we may face in this world, we can trust that God knows His plans, our part, and that which comes against us. Nothing catches God by surprise. Whether He allows an action or threat to occur or intervenes on our behalf we can rest in Him. The Scriptures reveal our all-knowing God has everything well in hand, even if for a time, we do not understand His ways and thoughts, which are so far above ours. He will accomplish His purposes, to grow us into His likeness, to correct our behavior or reprove our thinking, and to bring glory to Himself, even if the events around us appear to us less than good. Out God is greater than the enemies which may come against us and will reveal the wickedness of this world in His time.
Sometimes God allows things in this sinful and broken world to progress ‘naturally’, yet even in those circumstances He is in control. He knows the beginning from the end, and works all things for His glory and our growth in Him. Whether He specifically directs an action or simply allows that which comes our way to happen, He is still God and still on the throne of grace. We can boldly approach Him and bring our burdens, for He cares for us, and tell Him all our thoughts and questions. He will answer, though not necessarily in the way we think or want, and He will provide for His people, just as He did with Esther and the Jews.
And while we are here, God calls His people to holiness and obedience to Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our GOD has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of GOD so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of GOD might have life in His Name.
GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
