What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols? Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it. But the LORD is in His holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before Him. (Habakkuk 2:18-20)
Whether the idols of that time, or the idols of today; graven images of wood, stone, film or playing field are not to be worshiped, adored, or followed. The false prophets of false religions speaking lies are to be judged according to the Word of GOD, that their lies shall be exposed. Even today's idols of stage and screen, or on the playing field should not be listened to just because of their 'entertainment value'; but their words should be tested against what GOD teaches, and when it doesn't measure up it needs to be rejected and refuted. Worshiping that which is not GOD robs Him of His Glory, Glory in which He deserves because He alone is the GOD of the Universe. He created all things, including us and deserves our worship. He is worthy. All the earth is to silenced in awe of His Majesty. Compared to the Glory of GOD; which we see in all creation around us, especially the heavens and all the multitude of stars; we are nothing and have nothing to say.
It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary that we can even approach the Throne. And for those of us that have been born again, that Throne is a Throne of Grace. Grace and Mercy given unto us because we repented of our sIns, and received Him. We surrendered to GOD on His terms and believed in Him that we might be saved. When we forsake our idols, and ourselves and place our faith in the only one who can deliver us, we are forgiven and made a new creature in Christ. I urge you to accept this free gift of Salvation today.
And if you already know the peace that GOD gives, share Him with everyone you meet that they might receive the blessings of the Prince of Peace.
