And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (Eph 5:11-17)
Every generation has to deal with not only exposed sins, but also secret sins and behaviors that do not bring glory to our GOD. How the Church responds to sIn reflects the health and maturity of its members. GOD's will for us is for us to be Holy, to grow up in Him, and to walk in Truth, and to share Him with others that they too might receive Him by repentance and faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. Ours is not an earthly Kingdom until Christ comes back, nor is our mission political or social, but a commission from GOD to share Him with others as salt and light in this hurting and dark broken world.
When we shine as lights in the world and glorify our Father which is in Heaven, that which is in darkness and fears the light will be exposed. They may hate us, revile us, despitefully use us, and persecute us, but they can never defeat us, for Christ has already won. They may attack GOD's Word which is settled, and seek compromise where we cannot agree, but they cannot overcome us, for greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. We are victorious, over sIn for we are forgiven, not to live sinful lives of license and lasciviousness, but with liberty to live in Him lives of holiness and righteousness. We have been accounted righteous through and in Him and we are to live out His righteousness in us as we work out the Salvation we already have by faith in Him.
As we do His will and wait on the Lord, we are to accomplish His work, the good works which He hath before ordained that we should walk in them. We minister, as His ambassadors to those around us who are hurting and in need, sharing Christ in the temporal needs of those within and without. As we walk in Him, as members one of another in His Church, we are to love one another and grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, through the direction of the Holy Spirit and the teaching of His Word. As we go where He sends us, we are to take His Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this lost and dying world that those who hear, repent, and believe the Good News might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
