When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; Judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the GOD of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters. (Psalms 114:1-8)
When GOD delivered the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt He wasn't just acting on behalf of those whom He had chosen to bring forth His Son, He was also giving us a type and picture of our deliverance from sIn and this world. He showed His power on behalf of Israel, and His care for His people. We know from this example that He is able to provide for us. We praise Him for His power, His deliverance, His Salvation and His care. He gave water from a rock in the desert, and gives Living Water to His saints. He gave manna in the desert, and gives us the Bread of Life.
This world and the things of nature that GOD has created cannot stand against the Almighty and His power. It will not last forever, and GOD, who is outside His creation and still rules from His throne, can and does do marvelous things on behalf of His people. He acts to accomplish His will and work from Salvation for sinners who cannot save themselves, to the care and providence of the sheep of His pasture, to the restoration of all things that will come when He makes a new heaven and a new earth. Only those that are secure in Jesus Christ will be with Him then, and all those that have rejected Christ and His Word will be separated from GOD forever.
But GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and be born again, and He will give you a brand new life of fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Believe His Word and receive by faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary the free gift of Salvation that He offers you. Trust Him today and let Him be your Rock and Deliverer.
