Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites: But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden: But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die. (Num. 4:18-20)
God set various branches of the Levites to different tasks of bearing the Tabernacle when it was transported. These were not priests as Aaron’s sons were but were to transport the furniture and the utensils of the altar, once Aaron’s sons had covered it. They were not to look in until the altar was covered since they were not sanctified as the priests were. God was reminding them of the holiness of the tabernacle and that which was used in the sacrifice and offerings as sanctified by the blood and only for the priests. Their part was still necessary and each was to do as God commanded as appointed by the sons of Aaron.
Regardless of where God has called His people and to what service in His church, we are all called to serve. God wants all His people to know that His service is not burdensome but neither is to be taken lightly, regardless of what He has called us to do. While we cannot all teach or preach, we are all called to serve Him that others who do not yet know Christ as Saviour may come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth through faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. The Church as the body of Christ is to reach the lost, teach the nations, and preach the Word, until God is done with us. We each have our part to play as God leads and directs us. Nothing that God calls us to do is a small part nor should we try to do it without Him who is our help and our Salvation.
God has sent those of us that know Him out into this world to reach the lost that they might be saved from sin. He desires that His people strive to be holy and obedient unto Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our GOD has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of GOD so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of GOD might have life in His Name.
GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
