And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman. And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I. Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning. (Rth 3:10-13)
Boaz promised Ruth that she would be taken care of, if the closer relative would not redeem her lands and property according to the Law, then he would. She didn't have to worry about her future, and standing in the community or in the Law, for he would make sure that the kinsman's part was accomplished. He not only was obedient to the Law, but saw much in her that was virtuous and honorable, not because of her past heritage as a Moabite woman, but because of her future as an Israelite by faith and marriage.
GOD sees what we can become in Him, when we are redeemed from sIn. He doesn't dwell on our forgiven past, but looks to us now as new creatures in Christ. Delivered from sIn we are at liberty, not to continue in sIn, but to live in and for our Lord, to do His will and accomplish His work in this broken and dying world. The Spirit within guides us into all Truth so that we can grow in Him and be conformed to the image of His dear Son, transformed by the renewing of our minds, through His living Word, engrafted on our hearts and minds.
GOD calls all who His to live for Him. Those of us who have repented of our sins and been redeemed by our faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary are to reflect our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We are to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need, that they may see Jesus in us, the hope of Glory. We are to disciple one another in love and in His Word, that we may all grow up into the full measure of Him who first loved us. We are to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this lost and dying world, and as we go, in the power of the Holy Spirit who equips and empowers us with the Good News of reconciliation with the Father, we share Him with all we meet, that all who repent and receive Him by faith might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
