And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land. And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. (Exo 4:1, 5, 8-12)
Moses makes excuses and objections, as many have done, to the call of GOD. He is not afraid of Pharoah, but feels inadequate and that the Israelites won't believe that GOD has sent him. GOD demonstrates his power to remind Moses that He is with Him, and GOD can meet all of Moses' needs and provide for Moses in his ministry on behalf of GOD. GOD has power over nature and over men and their idols, He will accomplish His will and His plan to deliver the people of Israel. Moses was called to lead, not make excuses.
When GOD calls us, we should not make excuses or think that GOD is somehow wrong to call us, for He knows us better than we know ourselves. We have to trust GOD and rely on Him to work in us, to accomplish His will, and to show Himself faithful.
GOD has a plan for His people, to evangelize that others may know Jesus Christ through faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. He has a purpose of His Church, to disciple one another in love and through His Word, and for us to minister to all, both within and without, so that others see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. We are commissioned and commanded to minister as He gives the increase, to grow in grace, conformed to the image of His dear Son, and as we go, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear and believe, that believing in Him they might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Just as He called Moses to the work of deliverance, GOD calls you to trust what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new heart in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
