For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of GOD. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not GOD made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of GOD the world by wisdom knew not GOD, it pleased GOD by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1Co 1:18-21)
Sharing the love of Jesus Christ and proclaiming the Good News of reconciliation with GOD through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins is not a popular message, but it is a necessary one. GOD has declared all mankind and by extension of his dominion, all nature, under the curse of sin and judgment for our rebellion against Him. Only the sinless and perfect sacrifice of the Lamb of GOD can pay our sin debt and satisfy our guilt before a righteous and Holy GOD. The Gospel of Grace through faith is our message and our lively hope. We are commissioned to take it and make disciples for Christ for as long as we are here.
The world will not accept our message, either out of pride, denial, or outright rebellion. Many will reject our efforts, because they reject a GOD they say they don't believe in. Others will attack us, thinking they are doing what their 'god' would have them to do. But our GOD is faithful, and His Word does not go out void, but will accomplish that which He pleases. We are to be prepared to answer every one that asks us of the hope that is in us with meekness and fear. Exhibiting a quite strength as we wait on our Lord, and knowing His terror, we obey GOD, and share His love, mercy, and grace with every one we meet until He takes us Home.
Until that day, GOD's Church is to be about our Father's business. We are to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need, as good stewards of the grace of GOD, as GOD gives the increase. We are to grow in the Word as we disciple one another, and love one another so that all may know we are His disciples. We are to go where He sends us, and as we go, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in the Power of the Holy Spirit, teaching every thing that GOD has commanded us, that those who hear the Good News of reconciliation by faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary might believe, and in believing have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
